When I reviewed the Maserati GranTurismo, my only real complaint was that it just didn’t have quite enough power under the hood. It was by no means slow, but it wasn’t quite fast enough for its namesake. When I said that I wanted just a bit more “oomph” at the end of the review, I had the GranTurismo S in mind, but this seems to fit the bill a bit better.
Novitec Tridente is a German tuning company that specializes in Italian cars, especially Maserati (thus the name). In order to do their name justice, they have given the GranTurismo S a few upgrades. They have given the car an extra 160 horses, which brings the total to an even 600, new suspension, and exhaust upgrade, an upgraded ECU, an aerodynamics kit, and made it a little uglier. While the performance upgrades sound fantastic, I’m just not liking those wheels. I guess I’ve become accustomed to the 20″ Birdcage wheels in Grigio Mercury on my desktop. [GT Spirit]
