By all accounts, the new LSA-powered Cadillac CTS-V is a monster. It even won a recent comparison over at TTAC against the M3, RS4, IS-F, and C63 AMG. Unfortunately, with the recent announcement from GM that their High Performance Vehicle Operations would be dissolved, it didn’t appear that we would be seeing any more V-variants any time soon. Well, we were wrong because Brenda Priddy and Autoweek have found some spyshots of the upcoming CTS-V Coupe! Details after the jump.
What distinguishes the spyshots of this vehicle compared to the standard CTS Coupe (codename GMX226) are much larger exhaust tips, white tape on the bottom of the doors that conceal the “V” badging, and the V-exclusive mesh grille that can be seen through the camo.
One of the details I wouldn’t have expected to make it from concept to production of the CTS Coupe are the central exhaust tips, but this is just another pleasant surprise from the General.
We have no idea when we can expect to see the CTS-V coupe hit showroom floors, but with GM there’s a good chance we’ll be teased and shown concepts for the next 3 years before it actually comes to fruition. Doesn’t mean that we aren’t looking forward to a sexy, American coupe that can make the Germans say mutter. This could very well be one of the products that brings the Cadillac brand forth from the restructuring ashes.
