Fiat controls Chrysler. Fiat controls Ferrari. Chrysler makes the Dodge Viper ACR, whose hood has now made it onto the front-end of Ferrari’s most exclusive supercar: the 599 GTO.
Details below.
The GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) name has only been seen twice before, on the 250 GTO and 288 GTO, so it’s kind of a big deal. Recently, CarEnvy.ca has moved away from more mainstream news, but this car is a big enough deal that we just had to share it with you.
Compared to the standard 599, the GTO is 195kg lighter, 49 horses more powerful, and 9 ft-lbs more torquey. One hundred kph comes up in only 3.35 seconds. Only 599 of these monsters will be built at a price somewhere between $450-500,000. This might seem like a steep price of entry, and it is, but a 250 GTO goes for about $15 million. So the 599 GTO might be worth a spot in your hermetically sealed time capsule. Just sayin’.
