Even though the new Ford Mustang was just just released a few months ago, Ford is already drastically reworking for the LA Auto Show. The 2010 model sports a 4.0 V6 which only manages a disappointing 210 horses. If ze Germans can get the same output from a two liter, Ford’s engineers need to get their act together. Luckily, they just told us that they have. Find out how after the jump.
Probably the biggest change for the 2011 model is going to be the new all aluminium 3.7L V6 that puts out a respectable 305 horses and 280 ft-lbs of torque. This, along with some weight reduction, changes the V6 Mustang from a car for looking cool to a car that actually is cool. To go along with this much improved performance, there will be an aptly named Performance Package featuring 19″ wheels, Pirelli tires, suspension from the GT, a 3:31 rear axle, and a badge to let everybody know how cool you are.
All in all, it’s looking like the 2011 Mustang V6 might be one of the best values on the market for the red-blooded petrolhead.
