What’s that, you say? No 2009 WRC round in France? That’s OK. French fans instead got a treat when multiple world champion Sebastien Loeb brought the show to them once again, at the ultimate round of the French National Championship at Rallye du Var. Follow the jump for more.

That lovely lady you see as Sebastien’s co-driver in the photo above (from last year’s Rallye du Var, incidentally) is Severine, Sebastien’s wife. Together, they won the 2009 Rallye du Var handily. Usual co-driver Daniel Elena contested a separate car in the rally, this time driving instead of navigating. Robert Kubica also ran in the rally, unfortunately only managing to finish 29th overall in his Renault Clio R3.

In other F1/WRC crossover news, further steps have now been taken toward Kimi Räikkönen taking a seat in the 2010 World Rallye Championship. While nothing’s been signed, apparently there are only minor details to be worked out before Räikkönen will be clear to take a seat for all 13 rounds of the 2010 championship. What will he be driving? A Citroën C4, which Sebastien Loeb has now confirmed is his favourite rally car that he’s ever driven. Three consecutive Driver’s titles will do that.
