News: Detroit 3 ask Canadian government for “assistance”

Author:

It’s only a bailout if you call it one, or so the Detroit Big 3 seem to think. Our buddies ”Red Ink” Rick Wagoner, Bob “The Builder” Nardelli, and Alan “What’s My Nickname” Mulally have apparently asked our coalition government for some help. This help is to the tune of $6.8 billion, according the the Hamilton Spectator. Yikes.

It looks like the bailout financial assistance was so easy to obtain down South that the 3 started looking for more. But from who… “I know”, said Rick. “The Canadians! They’re too polite to say no. I bet you a Chevy Volt that Canada will give us free money.” “You’re on!”, said Alan and Bob in beautiful harmony. “Jinx!”, said Rick. “HAHA. Now you guys can’t talk.”

Is our government going to hold their childish hands to the fire like the US Congress did with a series of grueling hearings in Washington? I sure hope so. These companies need to be held accountable for their actions and they need to come up with a plan to protect Canadian jobs and factories and of concessions that the automakers will make.

With all the turmoil in Ottawa these days, I hope that our government can put their squabbling aside and focus on our economy. It’s very important that the Detroit 3 are not given a black cheque because they’ll just come back for more and more and more. C’mon Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, and Bloc, do this for us.
